Mike’s Window Service began on a cold, windy day in October 1990 when my father and I started “Dr. Clean” in Plattsmouth, Nebraska. What started as a father-and-son operation with a few ladders, a bucket, and a commitment to do the job right has grown into the company you know today.

In 1994 I took over the business, renamed it Mike’s Window Service, and with the help of my brother Mike Ratcliffe we began building it into something larger than either of us had imagined. We focused on steady, honest work—showing up when we said we would, cleaning every window like it was our own, and treating every customer with respect. Word spread, and the company slowly expanded across southeast Nebraska, northwest Missouri, and southwest Iowa.

Mike Ratcliffe left the company in 2012. From that point forward I continued running and growing the business on my own, still guided by the same values we started with.

As we grew, we made it a priority to hire local, dependable people who share those values: honesty, hard work, and real pride in the finished job. Many of those team members have stayed with us for years. We believe in treating our people as well as we treat our customers, because that is the only way to deliver consistent quality year after year.

Today Mike’s Window Service remains a locally owned and operated company. We still serve hundreds of homes and businesses across the same region we started in. I am still personally involved in the work and still committed to the same standard of care our very first customers received back in 1990. That continuity matters—especially when customers have seen what happens in an age when service standards slip.
